Becoming stronger leaders is a primary goal for every member of Team Fortis Enterprises. We use a wide variety of sources to find inspiration, including words of wisdom from some of the world’s most respected people. Here are a few quotes we look to when we need an edge in our leadership improvement efforts.
Nelson Mandela once said, “Everyone can rise above their circumstances and achieve success if they are dedicated to and passionate about what they do.” We remember these words whenever we face obstacles to our biggest Fortis Enterprises goals. With this quote in mind, we can rise to the challenge and find a way to a successful outcome.
Following our instincts is something we’re working to get better at as we refine our leadership abilities. Eleanor Roosevelt stated, “Do what you feel in your heart to be right, for you’ll be criticized anyway.” We know we need to trust our gut instincts when tough decisions present themselves, because there are always productive lessons to be taken from any outcome.
Kurt Vonnegut made an interesting point about leadership identity when he said, “We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.” We’ve taken this concept to heart, always projecting confidence as we become more self-assured in our management skills.
We keep these quotes in mind as we seek improvement as leaders.
